Job Description

U.S. Licensed Dentist – Ground Truth Annotation for FDA Validation Study

Remote | Contract | $110 USD per hour

Medcase is recruiting four U.S.-licensed dentists (DDS or DMD) to support a high-importance Ground Truth annotation initiative for an FDA-oriented validation study.

This project involves reviewing intraoral X-ray images and identifying all visible teeth using standardized tooth-level notation. Your annotations will contribute to the creation of a high-quality reference dataset supporting regulatory submission.

This is independent, fully remote work conducted in a secure, web-based annotation platform (V7 Darwin). No patient histories, reports, or clinical outcomes will be provided.

Project Scope

  • Total images: 400 intraoral X-rays

  • Total clinicians: 4 U.S.-licensed dentists

  • Work format: Asynchronous, remote

  • Platform: Secure web-based annotation environment

  • Estimated duration: 4–6 weeks (depending on throughput)

Responsibilities

  • Accurately identify and tag all visible teeth in assigned intraoral X-ray images

  • Apply predefined standardized tooth notation (e.g., “4-1”, “4-2”, “4-3”)

  • Follow detailed annotation guidelines precisely

  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across all assigned cases

  • Complete assigned workloads within agreed timelines

Important:

  • Tooth identification and tagging only

  • No bounding boxes, localization, or measurements required

  • No clinical decision-making or treatment planning involved

Requirements

  • DDS or DMD degree

  • Active, unrestricted U.S. dental license

  • Strong attention to detail and consistency

  • Ability to follow standardized annotation protocols

  • Comfortable working independently in a digital platform

  • Availability for a timely project turnaround

Prior experience in radiographic interpretation is expected.
Previous research or regulatory study participation is a plus but not required.

Why Join This Project?

  • Contribute directly to an FDA-oriented validation effort

  • Flexible remote work

  • Competitive compensation ($110/hr)

  • Opportunity to participate in future medical AI and regulatory initiatives
