Our highly-rated Dental Practice in Cerritos is searching for a Dental Assistant (DA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA). The ideal candidate is able to build strong rapport with patients and enjoys helping patients understand and stick to their recommended treatment plans.
At least 2 years of dental assistant experience is preferred. Experience with Digital X-Ray / 3d CT is preferred.
Rate of pay is Per Hour (DOE)
Hours for this position:
Duties will include but not limited to:
· Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
· Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and tray setups for dental procedures
· Greet and prepare patients for treatment
· Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures
· Conduct work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety, and OSHA guidelines
· Record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient
· Provide post-operative instructions prescribed and directed by the doctor in charge
· Record treatment information in patient records
· Participate in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals by working efficiently and providing a high level of patient service

POSITION SUMMARY The Biller performs a variety of insurance billing, data entry, and general front office tasks and duties including, but not limited to generating and billing out claims; benefits eligibility verification; documenting diagnosis and production; tracing payments; assisting with patient dismissal; scheduling; and any other directives as given by the office manager. INTERPERSONAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Strong communication skills Ability to organize insurance, HMO, PPO, Medical, Denti-Cal information, claims, encounters, tracers, etc. Ability to handle conflict and get along with people Ability to maintain outgoing, friendly attitude with patients and staff, even under pressure Ability to work with interruptions and to manage multiple priorities Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation Proficiency in alphabetizing, spelling, and business math Ability to write legibly and work with numbers Ability to meet deadlines Ability to satisfactorily perform essential functions of the position RESPONSIBILITIES Print and submit treatment authorizations requests on a daily basis Bill out claims on a daily basis (Denti-Cal and Insurance) Bill out supplemental claims on a daily basis (HMO) Print HMO encounter forms daily and mail on a monthly basis Prepare and submit specialty referrals on a daily basis Review all insurance claims and treatment authorization requests for proper submission on a daily basis Process all notices of authorization received and call the patients (or send postcards) on a weekly basis Call approved specialty patients to schedule appointments Process claims of inquiry forms to request changes to, or a re-evaluation of, a claim or treatment authorization request weekly, as required Respond to all re-submission of turnaround documents from insurance companies, requesting additional information, such as x-rays, on a daily basis Maintain accurate billing data, reporting/supporting documents, records, and reports Work with dental staff members or other billing department staff on billing matters Post explanations of benefits on insurance and Denti-Cal as soon as they are received in the office Prepare or run an aging report of accounts that are over 30 days old and review outstanding Insurance and Denti-Cal balances and follow up with collection calls Trace all outstanding claims on a weekly basis Order all billing supplies as needed Answer patient questions concerning claims, insurance, HMOs, Denti-Cal, etc. Follow-up with patients as needed through reminder phone calls, notices, and letters Generate and mail patient statements Check-in/Check-out patients and prepare charts as needed Verify patient benefits eligibility Collect patient payments, post payments on the Dental System, and print receipts Assist with patient consultations as needed Assist the Office Manager, as requested, with collections reconciliation and deposit preparation at closing each day Perform data entry as instructed File patient charts as instructed Attend and participate in staff meetings and team huddles Participate on committees and special projects as requested Comply with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all billing related matters Comply with all Safety, Emergency, Hazard, OSHA, HIPAA, Sterilization, Clinical, Quality Assurance and Administrative Plans, Policies, Guidelines, Protocol, and Standards Other duties as assigned by the Office Manager, Corporate Manager, and/or Dentists Following specific instructions is vital in this role.
